HMML Executive Director Father Columba Stewart, OSB, is hosting a new interview series, "To Listen: A Global Journey." Guests will include preservation partners and cultural heritage leaders from across many cultures and traditions.
In the second interview in this series, Columba interviews Borys Gudziak, the current Archeparch of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia. Abp. Gudiak hosted HMML’s first digital preservation projects in L’viv, Ukraine, a partnership which started in 2008 and continues to this day.
Abp. Gudiak has been a part of the reemergence of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church since 1989, in the wake of the Church’s suppression by Stalin and the Soviet collapse, and throughout the founding of the Ukrainian Catholic University and the Orange Revolution in Ukraine. Fluent in seven languages, Abp. Gudziak writes and lectures on theology, history, spirituality, education, society, and the current challenges in Ukraine.
These intimate, one-on-one conversations will help us better understand a region, a history, a culture, and the things that tie us together—all shared through the professional and personal experience of the featured guest.
